DCFA premier cup

Topsham Town 5

Chagford 3

Despite conceding 'soft' goals again, this was a much improved performance from the Moormen in this second round tie.

Two goals behind within 15 minutes, Chagford fought back to level the tie thanks to goals from Andrew Davis and Robbie Miller. Topsham enjoyed their ascendancy for most of the first half and might have scored more.

The second half saw Chagford raise their game but concede twice again, one of the goals from the spot after Forsey had been penalised. Robbie Miller, on his return from suspension, bagged a second but Topsham put away a fifth towards the end.

DCFA intermediate cup

Chagford Res 1

Watts Blake Bearne thirds 2

CHAGFORD Reserves bowed out of the Intermediate Cup in the second round although they had led through Vince Reeves.

The home side came flying out of the traps, creating a few early chances.

On ten minutes, Reeves tested the visiting 'keeper who turned the drive round the post. From the resulting corner, Ralph crossed and Reeves was on hand to power a header home from six yards out.

The 30th minute saw Chagford string together a great move from Harvey, at the back, through clever midfield play from Philpott and Ralph, setting up Woof on the left. Woof outpaced the defender but Wattsies' 'keeper dived at his feet and the shot hit a post.

Almost on half-time, Griffett gave away a free-kick on the edge of his box and Diddon fired home the equaliser.

WBB started the second half the stronger but Chagford defended well and held out.

As they came back into the game, most of the hosts chances fell to Scarry who just could not convert them and he had a goal disallowed for an off-side.

With seven minutes remaining Eden came up from the Watts defence and drove home an unstoppable 25 yarder, to secure the win for the visitors.
