WINKLEIGH Morris, which recently performed at the Baring Gould Folk Festival in Okehampton, has managed to raise £1,100 this year for charity.

Throughout the year the Winkleigh dancers have regularly danced at public houses and events across Mid Devon. Collections made have enabled the group to make over £1,100 in donations to a wide range of local charities, including Hospiscare, Shelter Box and Macmillan Cancer Care, as well as Devon Air Ambulance and British Heart Foundation.

As well as dancing in Devon, this year the group has enjoyed performing at events in York, Cheddar and Guernsey.

A Winkleigh Morris spokesperson said: ‘We are a friendly and lively group who practise weekly on Tuesday evenings at Winkleigh Community Centre between 8pm and 10pm. New members are always welcome, and we encourage everyone to come along and give it a go!’
