OKEHAMPTON ambulance station this week opened its doors after moving to a new site.
Colleagues from other emergency and healthcare services attended the grand opening on Tuesday, along with mayor of Okehampton Cllr David Weekes, who carried out the ceremony.
The new station includes a large garage, with space for a minimum of two vehicles, separate male and female locker rooms, WCs and showers.
It has been designed with energy saving in mind and includes high levels of insulation with movement controlled heating, automatic lighting and a proposal to install filtered rainwater collection for vehicle washing.
Operational locality manager Carol King said: 'I, along with my colleagues, am extremely impressed with the facilities at Okehampton's new station.'
The new station is situated in Hameldown Business Park for an easy and speedy route into town and onto the main Exeter road and the A30.
