OKEHAMPTON Library is celebrating National Libraries Day on Saturday (February 7) with various activities and events.

There is the launch of the new Lego builders' club for children over five which will run on the first Saturday of every month from 10.30am to 11.30am. The session is designed to make children get creative and let their imagination run wild. Their Lego masterpieces will then be displayed in the library and photos put onto Facebook.

While at the library that morning, people can enjoy free tea and coffee and become more connected with Devon Libraries' digital services by providing e-mail addresses to receive reminders about items that are due for renewal and keep up to date on plans for the library service along with events and activities via a newsletter.

There will be a member of staff on hand to assist with online services. These include e-books and audio books, accessing borrower records, searching and reserving from the online catalogue and using a range of online reference sources to which the library subscribes such as ancestry.

To enquire about any of these events contact Okehampton Library on 01837 52805. Learn Devon is also running a felt workshop from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the library. Phone 01822 613701 to book a place.
