A NEW medical surgery is to open in Bow next week.

Dr Andrew Bower, Dr Susan Taheri and Michelle Freeburn, the partners of Bow Medical Practice, have announced the centre, which is contracted to provide NHS medical services under NHS Devon, will open on Monday April 2.

Managing partner Ms Freeburn, who project-managed the build, said: 'At a time of great change for the NHS, we hope that our investment in this new surgery is seen as a mark of our strong commitment as partners to continuing to provide excellent and patient-centred care to the rural community that we serve.'

The new surgery has been designed by Andrew Saunders of Ford Gilpin Riley in Exeter, and built bu J E Stacey of Holsworthy.

The portable cabin in which the surgery has been based for the past three years will be removed in the near future.

The three partners are planning a formal open day in the coming weeks, inviting patients and other interested members of the local community to have a look around their new premises.
