NORTHLEW Parish Council has a vacancy for one parish councillor. If you would like to apply for the role, contact the parish clerk, Mrs J Millership on 01409 221409. Applications to be with Mrs Millership by June 15.

CELEBRATIONS to mark the Queen's Jubilee will start on Saturday, June 2 at the playing field at 2.30pm. A bring and share public tea will be held in the Square with Northlew Silver Band and dancing in the Square in the evening.

A special church service will be held on Sunday morning and a concert in the parish church that evening. There are still tickets available from Mollie on 01409 221929.

The beacon will be lit on Monday.

DURING the family service, at the parish church, Grant and Philipa Mansfield renewed their marriage vows and their marriage was blessed. There was a large congregations to wish them well and Marilyn sang a solo, Ave Maria, especially for them.

The service was conducted by the Rev Ruth Hansford and D Chivers was organist. Mrs Chivers read the lesson.

In the evening, holy communion was celebrated by Preb Anthony Geering, the organist being Mrs D Porter. Mrs P Durston read the lesson.
