Okehampton Community and Recreation Association (OCRA) has been inspiring young film makers with their Movie Magic Sessions.

Over the last two half term breaks OCRA have facilitated sessions for creative young people covering fashion, crafts and, most recently, film. From idea to script to shooting; the improvised movie-making sessions have provided experiences of filming, makeup, storyboarding, choreography, script writing and of course acting.Their short films have provided different genres for the participants to get their teeth into with horror and action films being created.

OCRA general manager Ian Blythe said: ‘The sessions are designed to act as an opportunity to try the differing roles within film making in a short space of time. We hoped this would appeal to a wider range of young people and potentially new participants that don’t engage with OCRA’s activity provision.’
