OKEHAMPTON Otter and Exeter City Swimmer Jessica James competed at the Tiverton Sprint Meet with great success and medal haul, taking silver in the first event the 100 individual medley.

This was followed by heats in all of the four 50m sprint events with only the fastest six swimmers in each event reaching the finals. Jessica, aged 11, swam well and qualified for the finals in every event.

In these finals she led from the front and took gold in the 50m fly, 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke and fourth in the 50m breaststroke — two of the finals were won with Jessica swimming personal bests.

This excellent swim followed her recent success at the Devon Developments only two weeks earlier in which she earned a gold in the 100m individual medley with a personal best swim, silver in the 100m butterfly with a personal best swim and bronze in the 100m backstroke.
