A MEMBER of community group Oke Rail has met with a government representative to discuss rail services in Okehampton.

Cllr Mike Davies, the chair of Oke Rail Forum, met with MP Gary Streeter to provide a current update on the work of the group and the proposal of the trial of the daily passenger train service from Okehampton to Exeter.

Gary Streeter MP is the chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for South West Rail.

Cllr Davies said: ‘Mr Streeter was very supportive. He has asked that Oke Rail attend the next All Party Parliamentary South West Rail meeting to present our business plan.’
