THE CHARITY Okehampton PADS has installed two more community defibrillators in addition to the one already in place outside the fire station on North Road.
The new defibrillator cabinets are located outside the Two Rivers Restaurant on Fore Street and Gillian’s Curtis Cuts on Crediton Road. They can be accessed 24 hours a day when someone has a cardiac arrest or stops breathing normally.
Used with correct CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), a defibrillator can greatly increase the chances of survival.
There are still places at a free defibrillator and CPR session being held by Okehampton PADS in the church hall in Market Street on December 7 at 7pm. Contact [email protected] to book.
