AS the sun set in Chagford recently, more than 100 people attended an outdoor cinema screening of Jaws at Chagford Swimming Pool.

Most visitors were seated around the pool, with a few brave souls who jumped in, to watch the classic suspense and horror movie.

The atmosphere was eerie with steam rising from the heated pool and inflatable sharks gracefully moving in the light breeze, all lit by underwater lights.

The event was organised by Chagford Film Festival in association with the pool and it was sponsored by several local businesses.

A giant screen had been placed at the deep end of the pool and the iconic theme music could be heard from a distance, punctuated by the occasional screams from the audience.

Chagford Film Festival will be holding events over the next 12 months in the run up to a full week-long festival in September 2018.
