AWARD winning restaurant, The Horn of Plenty, Tavistock, is celebrating after raising a total of £36,825 over the past five years to help people affected by cancer.
The Horn of Plenty has been running charity lunches every January to March in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. This year, guests at the charity lunches generously donated a record sum of £8,600 to help people affected by cancer.
Owner of the Horn of Plenty, Julie Leivers said: ‘We are so proud to have raised more funds this year than ever before and we would like to thank all of our lovely guests for their huge generosity. We all know people affected by cancer, so it is great to be able to raise vital funds and to make a real difference to those in need of support.’
Local fundraiser for Macmillan, Sian Ward-Edwards said: ‘We are grateful for the long-standing support we receive from the guests of The Horn of Plenty. We rely on donations to fund our services. One of our current areas of focus is to support people beyond treatment to include their ongoing medical, financial, practical and emotional concerns. This donation will help people cope better with the often life-long effects of cancer.’
