THE Plough Arts Centre at Torrington has been selected to join the NatWest Community Force initiative.

NatWest Community Force is a new initiative which works with local communities to support the people, projects and charities making a real difference where they live.

A spokesperson for The Plough said: 'NatWest believes that communities are important to all of us and that at the heart of each and every one you'll find great people doing great things to make them better places, so we are exceptionally pleased that we are taking part.'

There are three awards in each area and an individual can vote three times for their favourite organisation. The closing date is October 23 and the organisation receiving the most votes will receive £6,000. The spokesman added: 'We really need you to vote for us – please do it today! The Plough plays a huge part in the community, is a registered charity and without it the area would be even more culturally disadvantaged than it is already.'
