THE Okehampton Rotary Club presented South Tawton Primary School pupils Emilia Bazeley and Verity Williams with their prizes, following their success as winner and runner-up in the club's inter-school photography competition.

Emilia, a Year 4 pupil, and Verity, from the reception class, won first and second place at the school competition, with their photos put forward into the main Rotary competition. Both shots impressed the judges so much that the pupils claimed the top two overall prizes.

The theme of this year's competition was 'Wheels', and the artistic shots taken by Emilia and Verity really impressed the judges.

Rotary club president Andy Ewen and vice-president Nils Westman presented them with their cheques and presented the prize of a brand new digital camera to the school for Emilia's winning photograph.

Nils said: 'We're pleased to see the number of entries and the quality of entries, it's terrific.

'We're just amazed the winners have come from one school when so many schools have entered. Well done, to South Tawton!'

Andy said: 'We would like to thank John Stevens and the community committee of the Rotary Club for organising this year's photography competition. And a big congratulations to the winners!'
