PLAYING the system has become almost a national sport — the CSA, the benefit system etc, and, while I do not condone the disgraceful behaviour of some of our MPs I can see that not all are as guilty as might, at first, appear.

Most ordinary people attend to their own finances, but I would imagine, like most businessmen, MPs employ an accountant. He it will be who sorts out what can be claimed.

If he says that the trimming of the wisteria or replacing of a bath plug can be claimed under household management are they going to query it?

How many people, now appearing to be so outraged, are qualified to 'cast the first stone'?
