A CHARITY quiz night has raised £266 for the Devon Air Ambulance and premature baby charity Bliss.

The event was organised by local ladies Cathy Carey, Alison Holliday and Okehampton Times receptionist Jo Camies, who plan to run next year's London Marathon for the charities.

The trio are busily training for the event with Okehampton Running Club.

Fifteen teams took part in the quiz at the Pretoria Vaults on Friday.

On the night, money was also raised through a raffle, with prizes provided by Waitrose, Budgens, Taw Valley Creamery, Harpers Leisure Centre, Okehampton RFC, Costcutters and Beanfeast.

The organisers expressed thanks to everybody who supported the event, and especially the staff of the Pretoria Vaults, Pete Gross and Paul Barkwill for their help.
