Shebbear College students celebrated an excellent set of GCSE results.

Headmaster Bob Barnes was delighted that 95% of students achieved at least five A* -C grades, with 76% of students achieving five A*-C grades, including passes at English, maths and science.

He said: 'The hard work of pupils and staff have reaped their reward. These results, along with an impressive A-level performance, continue the superb trend of academic achievement at the college in recent years.

'It is really pleasing for all concerned that hard work and commitment do get rewarded.

'I congratulate the students for their focus and aspiration to do well. Well done.'
