Chagford seconds v
Cullompton
Chagford Seconds make a poor start losing Willie Potts and Jules Baker quickly and wickets continued to fall and Chagford were soon 51 for 6.
At this stage Paul Ridgers and veteran Steve Sizmur came together and added 94 runs for the seventh wicket, before Sizmur was bowled Nichols for a well earnt half century.
Ridgers continued and was the dominant partner in stands of 42 with Tim Butler adding 42 for the eighth wicket.and 38 for the nineth wicket with Wakefield. Ridgers was eventually dismissed for Stevenson for an aggresive 87 which included 11 fours and one six and Chagford were able to reach 243 for 9 in their 46 overs which looked unlikely at one time. Pick of the Cullompton bowlers was Nichols with 3 for 38.
Cullompton batted sensibly with seven players reaching double figures and when Maunder in the middle order was batting with Paul a Cullompton win looked on the cards.
Sizmur in a good all round game dismissed Maunder the last Cullompton wicket fell with one over to go and they were all out foor 162 to give Chagford Seconds a win by 86 runs in a game of changing fortunes and it was certainly hard work.
Chagford skipper Simon Snell was pleased with the effort put in by his team which as seen five consecutive wins and with 98 points out of a possible 100 are top of the table with North Devon 18 points behind.
