BURDON Grange Care Home has donated £304 to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust following their fundraising 'Ruby Weekend' in June.
The money was raised during the weekend of the Ruby Run, when the home held its own Ruby Ramble. The ramble was tailored to individual capabilities so that all residents aged between 18 and 65 who live with either a physical disability or acquired brain injury could take part.
More than 40 residents, staff, family and friends took part in the four-mile walk along the Ruby Way cycle path. The following day, six staff members took part in the Ruby Run relay event and clinched first place.
The money raised by the event was split evenly between the residents' fund and Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
On Friday, September 7, residents and staff presented Trish Wonnacott with a cheque for the charity. She expressed thanks to all those involved, and enjoyed a tour around the care home, meeting residents and staff who took part in the ramble.
