OKEHAMPTON Community Archive Group will hold a special coffee morning with a display of photographs of the town and school days, for visitors to browse and see if they can recognise themselves and their friends.

Guests can also enjoy a raffle, coffee and biscuits, as well as the chance to chat with friends.

The group has been established by and for the local community and enables people to record their memories and experiences and demonstrate their pride in the local area.

The meetings provide an opportunity for those involved to feel they are valuable members of the community.

The coffee morning will help link the generations by using computer technology to record the past for future generations.

There will also be a calendar of forthcoming events for the group, which will be available at the coffee morning.

Tickets for the raffle will be on sale throughout the morning and funds raised will go to support the work of the archive group.

The coffee morning will be held on Saturday, May 8 from 9.30am to 12.30pm in the Charter Hall.
