PREPARATIONS are underway for a charity golf day to raise money for Clic Sargent and the Make-a-Wish Foundation UK next month.
The third annual golf day organised by Bea Holman-Brooks and her family takes place at Okehampton Golf Club on July 6, and they are looking for teams to take part, event sponsors, hole sponsors and raffle prizes.
Bea was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in January 2009, and finished 28 months of gruelling treatment last spring, including chemotherapy, lumbar punctures and taking other medicines. She is now in full remission.
The day supports two charities close to the hearts of Bea and her family.
Bea's mother, Helen Holman, said: 'Clic Sargent cared for Bea during her 28 months of treatment, and gave our family the support we needed.
'Last year the Make-a-Wish Foundation UK granted Bea a wish, which meant so much to her, so we would like to help them grant some more wishes for poorly children who have life-threatening illnesses.'
If you would like to enter a team to take part, or can help in any way with event sponsors, hole sponsors and raffle prizes, please contact Helen on 07973 514445 or e-mail [email protected]">[email protected]
