BANDS keen to make a name for themselves can now apply to take part in the 2012 Okehampton Battle of the Bands.

Organisers have received the first few applications since they started accepting entries on March 1, and are hoping to get many more before July 1.

The winners will be given a full EP recording package with Alive Music in Wadebridge, £100 of music vouchers, and a slot on the Chagstock 2013 line-up, among many other great prizes.

Dates for the competition heats are Wednesday July 18, Wednesday July 25 and Wednesday August 1, with the spectacular Party in the Park finale planned for August 11.
