THEY don't have Simon Cowell — but they do have eight talented local singing and dancing acts at Hatherleigh's Got Talent tomorrow (Friday).

The entertainment-packed event at the community centre begins at 7.30pm, and will feature a range of acts ranging from solo singers to large dance troupes.

A panel of three judges will assess the performances and decide on the winner of the cash prize, which will be presented by Hatherleigh mayor Graham Alford. Proceeds from the evening will go to the community centre.

Well-known local character Andy Bennett is compere for the evening and has promised a range of poems, jokes and banter to keep everyone entertained.

Liz Abell, trustee of the community centre and one of the organisers of the event said: 'We are looking forward to this evening of fun and encourage everyone to come along and enjoy the show.

'Along with our usual well stocked, good value bar, we will be selling pizza slices, ice cream and festive mulled wine. There will be something for everyone to enjoy and a chance to see the latest local talent performing.'

Members of the audience also have a chance to win on the night, as there will be a big money 50/50 draw, where the lucky winner will get half of the takings.
