OKEHAMPTON Golf Club held its Spring mixed fourball open on Sunday in glorious sunshine, with 24 golf clubs from the South West of England represented, which provided a full field of competitors.

Congratulations to the overall winners Mark and Amanda Milverton and Dave and Julie Winsor from Dainton Park Golf Club.

On Saturday the men members played a Stableford competition for the anniversary Niblick Trophy. The winner of division one was Alan Hough on countback from, in second Kevin Cornwall, third James Weller and fourth Colin Cornwall. All these players finished with 38.

Division two was won by William Potts with 43 points from, in second, Richard Reid who had 40. Also with 40 was John Flavin who came third.

Division three was won by Sid Sanders with 43 points and who also won the Anniversay Niblick; second was Lewis Parry with 39 from, in third, Martin Jewell who also had 39 points.

In the first round of the Devon County lady veterans knock-out competition Okehampton ladies Lin Atkinson and Jane Warren won their match 3 and 1 against Honiton at Stover.

The Presidents team won their first match four and a half to two and a half away at Thurlestone.

On April 11 Mary Keir and Jane Warren moved into the third round of the Daily Mail Foursomes, having beaten Bude at home in a close match, finally winning on the 19th hole.
