REPRESENTATIVES from West Devon Division of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help, were presented with a cheque for £588 by Waitrose Community Matters Scheme recently.
The money for SSAFA Forces Help will go towards funding accommodation, care and respite facilities at hospitals for families visiting badly injured service personnel.
It will also go towards a care home for elderly ex-servicemen and women, temporary accommodation for separated families and holiday bungalows for disabled ex-servicemen and women.
SSAFA's network of 6,000 trained volunteers provides practical and emotional support, as well as financial assistance and access to a range of services that can make a real difference to the lives of those in need.
