PICTURESQUE paintings of Dartmoor will be on show at an open garden studio in June as part of the North Devon Festival.

Celia Olsson will be welcoming visitors to her studio at Bondleigh Bridge, North Tawton as part of the festival's Art Trek 2010.

On show will be her colourful, loose-style paintings of the local area and Dartmoor, as well as flowers, gardens and locations from further afield. There will also be a chance to see some of her work in progress.

The studio will be open over the three weekends on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting from June 11 to June 20, between 10.30am and 4.30pm. The studio will also be open from Tuesdays to Thursdays by booking an appointment the evening before.

Visitors to the studio will receive a discount voucher to enjoy a snack at the Bay Tree Café in North Tawton.

Celia will also be running workshops over the weekends for anyone inspired to have a go at art.

On June 12, 13, 19 and 20, from 2pm to 4pm, the workshop will be experimenting with colour and texture. It will cost £3 per person to cover the cost of materials.

On June 25, 26 and 27, from 2pm to 4pm, the workshop will be sketching walks along the Tarka Trail for people to try their hand at quick 30-minute sketches of the scenery, which will cost £10 per person.

Celia's studio will be signedposted from the Winkleigh to North Tawton main road. For more information or to book a place on one of the workshops, contact Celia on 01837 82796 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
