South Zeal Utd 5
Winkleigh 0
AFTER an even start to the match when only a great tip over the bar from Zeal keeper Reg Wonnacott kept Winkleigh from going one up, the home side took the lead after ten minutes, when Harley Cann crossed for Phil Evans to score at the far post.
From this point it was all Zeal in the first half and they went two up when Redd Cann, Scott Hooper and Daniel Gibbs created another chance for Phil Evans who finished well from ten yards into the far corner.
Zeal should have been three or four up at half time but near misses from good positions kept Winkleigh in the game and for the first ten minutes of the second half, they pressurised the Zeal defence. However, Tom Reilly and Lee Gilbert were solid in the in the middle and after 15 minutes having got their passing game going again, Robbie Sandercock and Dan Wakeham put Darren Gilbert in down the left and he beat two defenders and rounded the keeper to put Zeal three up.
With the home side now dominant a fine performance was rounded off with two great goals from Harley Cann to secure all three points for Zeal.
