The Chagford fundraising committee for Macmillan Cancer Support marked the World's Biggest Coffee Morning with a successful cup cakes and coffee event at Endecott House, which raised £443 for the charity — see page 34.

The committee was thrilled to see how many people came along to support the event. There was a free cup cake with every cup of coffee. Funds were raised from the door takings, a raffle, a stall laden with home-made cakes and savouries, and several generous donations.

The committee holds a Christmas coffee morning at Endecott House with stalls selling cakes and savouries and Christmas gifts. This year it will be on Saturday December 11 and the committee hopes to see everyone again then.

In 2011, in addition to its regular Easter and Christmas coffee mornings, the committee will be organising two special events to celebrate Macmillan's Centenary. More information about these in a few weeks' time.

The committee expressed thanks to all its supporters for their on-going support and generous contributions to the fundraising events.
