TICKETS for the first of a series of autumn Church House concerts are now available.

Following the last of the summer Church House concerts last week, Martin Simpson will play the Victory Hall in South Zeal on Friday, September 13.

Widely acknowledged as one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world, Simpson uses his instrument to reinterpret traditional songs.

He has been nominated 26 times in the 12 years of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards — more than any other performer — with nine consecutive years as nominee for Musician of The Year, which he has won twice.

Whether playing American old-time music, blues, a Dylan song or his own material, Martin Simpson's set promises to be unpredictable and individual.
