I SUPPORT warmly the views expressed by Pat Warne in her excellent letter (Times, December 24) regarding the dedicated, courteous, unstinting service given by Dick Eberlie to our town and community, both as an elected councillor on the Tavistock Town and West Devon Borough councils and as a tireless worker for so many charities and community projects.

Truly a gentleman, his retirement from so many of the above will leave a void impossible, adequately, to fill.
He is also an accomplished writer; now, with more time on his hands, perhaps there will from his pen, be further excellent books coming our way.
