RGB Building Supplies has selected Okehampton’s Gilead Foundations as a finalist in its charitable giveaway and is now asking the public to vote for the winner.
The winners of the Surprise Supplues giveaway will receive £1,000 to spend on building materials at its local RGB branch and Gilead plans to use the money to build a craft and IT educational skills room.
Paul Lethbridge, branch manager at RGB Okehampton, commented: ’For our latest Surprise Supplies call out we received over 150 nominations from across the region, so congratulations to Gilead Foundations for being chosen as a finalist.
’The charity does fantastic work to help women in our area and, as its local RGB branch, we want to encourage our community to show their support and vote.’
Gilead Foundations is up against 7th Exmouth Scout Troop, Bridgerule C of E Primary School, Cedar Grange Care Home in Launceston, Chilled Out Youth Space in Torquay, Exeter Community Initiatives, Ilfracombe & North Devon Sub Aqua Club, In the Mix Project in Wiveliscombe, Swimbridge Primary School and Woodside Animal Welfare Trust in Plymouth.
The vote will take place between February 14 and 8am on February 28. The company will not count any votes it received outside these dates. It states thatonly one vote per person via one method of voting will be counted.
Gilead Foundations offer supported living services for women who have had a range of experiences, including drug and alcohol addiction, homelessness, anxiety and domestic abuse.
The charity aims to provide safe housing and support through therapy and skills training to help the women change their lives for the better.
In the past, Gilead residents have got involved in a range of practical activities such as agricultural work including animal husbandry and other farm work.
