A LONG time user of the Poppy Day Care Centre celebrated her 100th birthday last week with a special visitor.
Cora Yeo turned 100 on Friday March 24, and celebrated a couple of days early with friends and staff at the day centre, based at Wardhayes Care Home on Simmons Way. To commemorate the occasion, Cora received a visit from Wayne, a 16-year-old donkey who lives at the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust Centre in Ivybridge.
Cora has been visiting the day centre once a week since 2001. She said: 'Wayne is lovely, it was really lovely to have him here.'
The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust is a UK-based charity dedicated to providing therapy for the elderly and riding therapy with donkeys for children with special needs and disabilities.
