THIS was as expected, a physical contest with Exmouth having the much heavier pack with Okehampton having a number of players missing on Devon duty.
There were Oke players out of position, Giles Heard, Luke Liversidge and Will Cooper in the back row, Mark Toms at centre and Daniel Squire had his first match at prop and performed well.
Pat Webb, caught the ball from the kick-off. Good handling and support running led to Billy Searle using his customary side step to chink through the opposition to score the first of two tries one of which he converted.
Oke defended well in their own 22 only to concede a try which was converted. Connor Vincent made some try saving tackles on the wing. In the second half, Okes came out firing on all cylinders and quick hands from Kyler Burns saw Will Cooper score a try after receiving a good pass from Zac Ponsford. After a period of intense pressure Exmouth scored a try under the posts which was converted. All of the team stepped up to mark and played well with Luke Liversidge and Pat Webb, the Oke players of the match.

OKEHAMPTON started the stronger of the two sides and came close to scoring early on, only to be tackled into touch over the try line.
A fortunate lucky bounce of the ball enabled the home side to score first but Oke came back good pressure from the backs and some determined forward play enableing Joe Mawle to stretch for the line.
Exmouth responded with a try soon after but it was Oke's Daniel Thorne who made a break up the wing near the half way line to score under the posts; this was converted by Jack Raymond, to leave the score 12-10 at the break.
The re-start saw Exmouth and regain the lead and the visitors started to loose their structure. Exmouth capitalised and forced another score in their favour. In the dying minutes Oke earned a penalty on the 10 metre line with forwards and backs supported each well leading to Tom Bailey going over after from a maul five metres out.
n TAVISTOCK U11s team travelled to premiership club Exeter Chiefs to play in a 16 team tournament against some of the best clubs in Devon and Cornwall. In their first game against Redruth the Cornish team scored three quick tries in the first half but in the second half, good play from Luke Lewandowski and James Paxman and great tackling from Jacob Staig and Morgan Turnock helped limit Redruth to one more try. Against Kingsbridge the team went down by two tries in a close game.
The final game against Exmouth saw a tremendous effort from the Tavistock pack which included Jason Blake, John Lord, Tom Pearson, Archie Allen and Cian Benny. An impressive try by Jack Smyly, and tries from Jude White, Lachlan Fulton and Archie Trevethan helped cement a four try win for Tavistock and end the day on a great high. Their player of the tournament was Jack Smyly.

EXMOUTH was the first to strike early on, with a try and confident conversion but Oke responded with some determined play.
Exmouth lost possession through a great interception by Daniel Turney. This was capitalised on with James McCulluch's try. Oke had the ball from the re start and scored a quick second try following a solo run from the half way line by Dai Chi Budiman.
A period of scrappy play followed with Oke giving way penalties, one which led directly to another Exmouth try, resulting in Oke down at half time.
A different team seemed to come out for the second half, attacking with more force and tackling relentlessly. The scrum began to dominate with powerful running by prop Will Risdon on more then one occasion. Good gameplay, with better discipline, allowed Okehampton to spread the ball more freely.
Tries and conversions followed from from Nathan Tomkins, Kai Middleton, Tom Stevens, Dai Chi Budiman and James McCulloch.
Dartmouth U10s 0
TavistockU10s 40
TAVISTOCK once again dominated the game with Dartmouth being contained mainly in their own half for most of the game. The determination of the pack, Harry Richardson, Oscar Campbell and Cameron Georgel, with Dylan Owen gave the Tavy backs a solid platform to launch attacks. A try from scrum half Harry Edwards opened the flood gates. Hooker Cameron Georgel set up Tavistock's second for winger Henry Varndell-Dawes. Three further tries from Louis Peake and another from Oscar Campbell gave Tavistock a comfortable 30-0 lead at half time. To their credit Dartmouth never gave up but tries from Harry Edwards and fly half Noah Berridge sealed the win at 40-0.

IT opened by a scything run from the start by Henry Varndell-Dawes to run in the first of three for Tavistock. Henry carried on to set up the second try for Jack Bellamy, with Jack also scoring the third.
Dartmouth battled to the final whistle keeping the Tavistock attack much more contained and were ng rewarded with two well worked tries in the corner.
This was a great all round team performance with sterling scrum half work from James Kenyon and Dan Pett and good tackling and ball carrying from Jack Lancashire, Jack Baker, Reuben Coleman and Ollie Sampson.

OKEHAMPTON started at a frantic pace which the Exmouth players struggled to cope with, on a hard playing surface.
Up front for Oke Jake Laing-Taylor, Barnaby Waddell and Sonny Luxton made countless tackles and scrummaged well. As halfbacks James Close and Joshua Burgoyne linked well with the latter scoring three tries as did Joshua McCulloch with some powerful runnings. Will Cunningham and James Stevens also scored a try apiece Saul Holliday was rewarded for his efforts with a try of his own after a good run, while Jake Laing-Taylor completed some fearless tackles.

OKEHAMPTON produced some superb defensive play, notably from Harry Laing-Taylor, Liam Daintree and Matthew Denning.
Daniel Tomkins impressed around the field while Hayleigh Shaw and Robert Whitby aquitted themselves. The try of the day came after a break at flyhalf by the hard working Charlie Glanville who breached the Exmouth defence beating four players before off loading the ball to Jordan Hill who scored in the corner.

OKEHAMPTON got off to a slow start with Exmouth scoring quickly but the team quickly shored up its defence and shut down a well drilled Exmouth team.
Edward Luke, Jay Jenkins and James Hockridge made some good tackles for Oke and Charlie Collins showed a lot of strength when scavenging for loose ball. Just before the half time break Theodore Jackson Clist ran half the length of the pitch to score a well deserved try which enabled the Oke's to share the half- time honours.
The second half saw further good play with Oliver Johns, Dillon Nicholas and Tom Chapman making some strong runs and James Fishleigh making some good tackles.
Theodore scored to give the Oke's the lead. As the half wore on some gaps opened in the Oke's defensive line and Exmouth capitalised to come out winners.

JOSH Glanville captained Oke to good effect and kept a neat defensive line against a disorganised Exmouth attack. Okehampton were on the front foot with some outstanding tries being scored by Marcus Reed (4) Alex Harrison (1) Ethan Drew (2) and Joe Duffy (2). Morgan Woods in his debut who played with great skill and enthusiasm.

CAPTAIN Alex Harrison lead from the front with some excellent tagging. Try scorers were Morgan Woods (1) Joe Duffy (2) Marcus Reed (3) and player of the match Cameron Keegan with two tries. Both games were a team effort with Milo Jarvis, Holly Keast and Isaac Whitby giving 100%.

OKEHAMPTON tries came from Grady, William (W) and William (D) who scored two in the first half and Adam two in the second half.

Exmouth 1
THERE was great tagging by all the Oke players with Exmouth only managing to break the defence line once. A great interception and run saw William (D) score, and there was a great run down by Hamish who added to the tally. Other tries were by Grady and Archie (S). The second half saw a superb run down the touch line and try by Saul and also William (D) scored for the fourth time. Adam added more tries before the final whistle.
Mount House 24
King's Hall 5
AFTER the visitors took a 0-5 lead at half time after the break Mount House enjoyed a greater share of possession.
Wilf Hadow equalled the scores, which Will Partington converted and a further penalty increase the Mount House lead to 10-5. Wilf Hadow and Will Partington added further tries to give Mount House a victory.
The Mount House Colts A team also put in their best performance of the season after going behind away to King's Hall. Tries from Joe Beck and Cosmo Summerfield led to a 14-7 victory.
