THE annual Mythic Garden sculpture exhibition at Chagford's Stone Lane Gardens is now open to the public for the summer.
A cool and dry day saw the private viewing on Saturday, with the exhibition opening to the public the following day.
Each year sees a different theme for the exhibition, showing a selection of work by West Country artists placed in the peaceful backdrop of the gardens.
This year's exhibition theme is 'Birds'. The garden will be open daily from 2pm to 6pm.
There is a busy programme of events at the gardens throughout the summer. On Saturday May 26, the gardens host an evening of gypsy storytelling, music and food round the campfire with Tom Hirons, Rima Staines and Lisa Rowe. Two traditional gypsy caravans will be at Stone Lane Gardens throughout the weekend, and it is a great chance to see the sculptures and gardens in the evening light.
Tickets cost £12.50 for adults, £6.25 for under 16s and free for under fives. They are available from Sally's Newsagents and the Courtyard in Chagford as well as at Stone Lane Gardens by email [email protected]">[email protected] or by phoning 01647 231311.
The gardens will also be open for the National Gardens Scheme this weekend on Sunday May 13, raising money for a range of charities, and for a guided RSPB bird walk on June 10.
