Devon and Exeter division three

Topsham 1

South Zeal Utd 4

SOUTH Zeal were the better team from the start and deservedly took the lead after 15 minutes when Ben Davey put Darren Gilbert through on goal and his well struck shot from 12 yards gave the home keeper no chance.

Zeal were well worth their lead but started the second half on the back foot and 10 minutes later Topsham scored when one of their forwards slipped through the Zeal defence and scored with a low shot into the corner past Reg Wonnacott in the Zeal goal. Within 10 minutes Zeal went 2-1 up when Harley Cann was put through by Tom Reilly and he finished well from close range.

Darren Gilbert made it 3-1 when Robbie Sandercock put him through with a great pass and Darren lobbed the ball over the head of his marker and went on to score from close range. Topsham kept going forward but Zeal's defense marshalled by Lee Gilbert were too good on the day and Harley Cann made the score 4-1 after a free-kick from Robbie Sandercock was parried by the Topsham keeper into the path of Harley Cann who made no mistake from close range.
