HAVING had to cancel its last two time trials due to temporary road works on the course, the Okehampton Cycle Club 'open' 10 mile time trial on July 17 passed off smoothly.
Thirty eight riders turned out to take advantage of the warm conditions and light winds with some good times recorded on the fast A30 course which starts from Sourton.
The race was won by Andrew Perkins of Mid Devon Cycle Club in 20 minutes 50 seconds with Steve Hockings-Thompson (CS Dynamo) second in 21 minutes 34 seconds and Conrad Moss (Mid Devon CC) third one second behind.
Ayse Vahiboglu was the fastest lady in 24 mins 46 secs and Tony Farrell (Club One and All Cycling Ricci) recorded an impressive time of 22mins 01 sec to take the veterans over 60 prize.
Fastest Okehampton Cycle Club rider on the night was James McDiarmid in 22mins 50 secs.
