THE OCRA Volleyball Club played and won their first ever match, defeating the Torexe Spitfires 3-2 at Parklands Leisure Centre. Although only a friendly, the match was a fiercely contested affair, in which the OCRA team prevailed against their more experienced opponents, who currently compete in division two of the Exeter and District League system. OCRA's display of precision serving and aggressive, powerful attacks could not be contained by the well drilled team from Exeter. The Oke team of Jonny Aylen, Matt Doidge, Tim Doidge, Matt King, Tracy Milburn, Tom Pearce and Bjorn Westman, recovered from a set down, to produce a dominant display and amass an unassailable 3-1 lead before Torexe restored some pride and claimed the final set. The team gave a big thank you to player/coach Tracy Milburn, who has coached the group in the technicalities and skills of volleyball, enabling the OCRA team to compete at the level of the visitors.
