BATTING first, Chagford seconds quickly lost Solkin for two, but Jules Baker and Roger Whittingham took the score to 43, before Baker went for ten.
Greg Williams followed for eight, but disaster followed with the score at 66 Roger Whittingham departed for a sparkling 39, and it was left for Richard Sampson to hold the Chagford batting together. When he was dismissed for 28 with the score at 120-7 the remaining three wickets fell for just three runs and Chagford were all out for the moderate score of 123.
Starring for the visitors were bowlers Twallamy with 5-22 in his nine overs and Molineux with 4-11.
This was a difficult score to defend on an excellent track and Steve Crocker and Tom Wood took the score to 59 without difficulty when Wood was bowled by skipper Brijnath for 14.
Young Will Barclay bowled Crocker for an excellent 39 and Babbacombe seemed to be coasting to the target but Roger Whittingham entered the attack and with three wickets for 23 to delay the inevitable as Babbacombe emerged winners by five wickets, although they took 41 overs to reach their target.
Fourteen year-olds Will Barclay and Robbie Beauchamp both bowled their nine overs for 16 runs.
However, it was worrying for the home side that there were 40 extras in the Babbacombe innings and also Chagford lost their last four wickets for just three runs which made the Babbacombe win that much easier.
