Bridestowe seconds v Chagford thirds

WITH a restructure in the league it was a confident Bridestowe team that took to the field to face a blend of youth and experience from Chagford. 

Winning the toss Chagford opted to bat and after a solid start regularly lost wickets. However an anchor innings by L O’Connell (67) who hit anything straight hard through mid-wicket, saw them reach a respectable 147 all-out. 

Corey Holliday (4-1-22-4) was the stand-out home bowler. 

The Bridestowe seconds’ usually solid upper order did not perform and regular bowling changes kept delivering wickets with the only resistance being shown by Dale Harris (37). 

Wickets were shared evenly by the nine Chagford bowlers as the visitors won by 38 runs leaving Bridestowe with their first loss of the season.
