FIVE students of Dragon Taekwondo Academy Halwill Junction were awarded their Dan grades after a gruelling five hour long grading, and more than four and a half years of regular training.

The exam was carried out by master Con Halpin, sixth dan, senior instructor of Brotherhood Taekwondo Foundation and master Liam Grange, fifth Dan chief instructor of Musul Kwan Sussex.

The grading exam was a culmination of our annual weeklong martial arts summer camp which was held in Bude.

The successful students were: Hannah Power first Dan; Tom Douglas first Dan; Alice Morey, aged 14, first poom (junior Dan) of Bradworthy; Tia Riddy, 13, first poom (junior Dan) of Holsworthy; Ellie Wiffen, 14, first poom (junior Dan) of Halwill.

There were also five other students upgraded (colour belts)- Pennie Channing, Alan Swinburn, Rowan Power, Mark Rosser, Gideon Rae and Frazer Salisbury.
