Okehampton ladies seconds 1
Launceston ladies 1
LAUNCESTON quickly took control and put the Okehampton defence under pressure, but quick responses from goal keeper Alice Wiseman made sure the visitors were denied any goals.
Okehampton started to pull back and strong defending from Louise Weller and Rachel Adams soon helped the game turn around into positive attack. A sharp angled ball from right wing Emma Wiseman found its way over the Launceston goal keeper's leg, leaving the home side 1-0 up at half time.
During the second half Oke continued with positive attack, and chances for goals came from balls placed in the circle by Lottie Rademaker. Oke could not quite outwit the Launceston defence; the closest chance to score came from Viv Weatherington whose shot at goal was just too wide.
Launceston never gave up and a quick move around Oke's Ailsa Gibb in the centre saw their player take the ball singlehandedly down the pitch not stopping until she saw the ball in the back of the net.
The teams continued to battle it out but neither team was able to score another goal and the final result was a 1-1 draw.
