ON Saturday at Okehampton Golf Club the first individual qualifying Stableford competition of the year was played.

The winner of division one with 40 points was Chris Hurley. The next three players all achieved 37pts and after count back Darren Prouse was second, Martin O'Connor third and Malcolm Hooper was fourth.

Division two was won by Steve Robinson with 39pts on the back nine from, in second, Ron Copeland also with 39. Steve Browne was third with 38pts.

Geoff Fidler was the winner of division three with 38pts, second Ian Butt on 35pts with John Latham third with 34pts.

The ladies' section played their first medal round of the year and the winner of the silver division with nett 73 was Marcia Collett. Marcia Jones was second with nett 75 and in third with nett 77 was Abby Turner.

The bronze division was won by Sue Williams with nett 73, Maggie Caws was second with nett 79 and in third place with nett 80 was Heather Skyrme.
