THIS game was switched to Bere Alston after Launceston first team were using their pitch, but home advantage could do little to sway the result for Bere Alston.

Will Westlake was caught out for the first goal, letting the Clarets in to score after giving up a chase for a long ball. The second was also a result of poor defending, this time from a corner.

United huffed and puffed, but couldn’t breach a stubborn defence in the first half.

The second half saw Will Westlake caught out by the same long ball as he was caught for pace, and long balls proved difficult for Bere to deal with.

United brought on three 17-year-old substitutes and their fresh legs steadied the ship.

Bere were naive though, piling forward and leaving their defence open for a third.

James Follet scored a consolation goal in the last minute.

Bere Alston are home to St Dominick in the league next.
