Okehampton Argyle 1
Newtown 5
THIS game was always going to be an uphill battle against title favourites Newtown at Simmons Park.
The guests, who are in second place after this win, dominated the game from start to finish but the Okehampton players did put in a decent performance and were rewarded when Harry Ticker curled a freekick from outside the box into the top corner of the goal.
Devon and Exeter seven
Otterton 2
Okehampton Argyle reserves 2
OKEHAMPTON Reserves showed great character as they came from behind to secure a draw away at Otterton.
Argyle started poorly and were quickly a goal down after Otterton took advantage of the lack of marking to nod home the opener. Otterton were soon 2-0 up after a breakaway saw Argyle caught short at the back but Oke kept themselves in the game until the break. A change of system at the interval saw Argyle play two up front and the game turned on its head. After a long throw from Scott Hooper, a push on Rhys Mellor Bond saw Oke awarded a penalty. Hooper made no mistake from the spot to make it 2-1. With Oke back in the game it became an end to end and with ten minutes to go Oke were level. A shot from Daniel Gibbs caused chaos in the Otterton back line leading to an own goal. Whilst neither team could find a winner, Okehampton can be proud of a solid point at the league’s form side.
