TAVISTOCK Ladies were in action at home in their last league game of the season against Exeter Uni.

The game started with both teams playing a little unsettled and playing fast paced football. Exeter were first to get on the score sheet when a corner that was cleared by Tavistock’s defence came back into the box, scrabbled around, then fell to a player at the back of the box who just tapped it into the net giving them the lead.

Tavistock soon responded with an equaliser when winger Donna Hone passed to Becky McMullin, who then laid it off for Becky Turner to drill it into the bottom right corner. 

In the second half Tavistock were more settled with some great link up play. Tavistock’s second goal followed when Exeter’s keeper made a goal kick, however Gemma Small was able to return it straight to the back of the net, putting Tavistock ahead.

The game remained end to end, with Tavistock doing their best to maintain their lead and despite Exeter’s hard work, they held on for the three points.

Player of the match was Becky McMullin.

On Tuesday, March 29, Tavistock are playing in the Devon Cup Final against Buckland Athletic Ladies 7.15pm kick-off at Coach Road, Newton Abbot. Any support would be most welcomed.
