FOOTBALL mad youngsters can take part in Exeter City's Football in the Community event in Okehampton during the spring half term.
The popular soccer roadshows, which run in towns across Devon, give boys and girls aged five to 14 the opportunity to improve their football skills, keep fit and have fun in a safe and structured environment.
FITC will be in Okehampton on Friday, February 21 at Okehampton College from 10am to 3pm. The course costs £15, though if the booking is made before 5pm tomorrow (February 14), there is a 10% discount.
'Given the weather we have been experiencing this winter, we've booked as many indoor facilities as we can – including the sports hall at the community college,' said Scott Walker, sports development officer for FITC.
'Although children are on a break from the school routine, it's important that they continue to get lots of exercise and, of course, it's a great way to have fun with their friends in a different environment – as well as making new friends.'
A special disability session for eight to 18 year olds will be running on February 19 at St James High School in Exeter, which is open to children and young people with any form of disability, learning or physical, with the emphasis on fun and participation and is run by FITC's FA-qualified coaches who have attended specialist disability sport training courses.
