AFTER qualifying in the local championships, Sampford Spiney athlete Henry Ware took part in the National Tetrathlon Championships held at Bishop Burton College in August.

With consistent good scores in the shooting and swimming phases, Henry and his horse Beanie went clear across country with minimal time faults.

Going into the final running phase Henry was in sixth position with all the top six very closely placed.

All his pre-event training with the Tavistock Running Project paid off and Henry completed the 3,000 metre course in 11:07 to finish third overall.
