Crediton U16s 0
Okehampton U16s 62
OKEHAMPTON put in another strong all round performance against a weakened Crediton side.
With the forwards and backs working together Williams burst through the centre to score under the posts to open the scoring. Crediton then had their best spell of the game and should have levelled the score only for the ball to be dropped after crossing the line - this spurred on Oke to finish the first half 15-0.
In the second half with the strong wind behind them and a rotation of their substitutes Crediton had no answer to the continuous pressure and movement of the Oke team and a further 47 points were added by the end of the game.
Try scorers for Okehampton: Williams 3, Pillivant 2, Cooper 2, Toms, Bickley, Heard; conversions, Pearce 4, K Lee, Heard.
Okehampton were presented with the Stuart Stocking memorial cup which is played out by the Oke and Crediton U16s.
Tavistock U14s 34
Bideford U 14s 5
THE last time these teams met it was a closely fought 46-46 draw, so everyone was expecting an exciting match. Tavistock supporters were not disappointed, even though the team took a little while to warm up.
The first half saw a great try from Will Paull, and a characteristic try by Charlie Fethney after catching the ball from the restart. Bideford looked dangerous, turning over the ball effectively, and a good phase of passing down the line won them the final try of the half. Good defending, particularly from Morgan Warnett kept them away from the Tavistock line.
Tavistock had it all their own way in the second half, with much better passing and scrumming. After a prolonged attack Luke Dean shot through for a try converted by Harry Dunlop. Charlie ran the length of the wing, and despite a superb tackle from a Bideford player, got straight up and scored. A combination of Bert Rodgers twirling past two tacklers, and a great offload from Angus Hogg enabled Will to score again, converted by Harry. In the last ten minutes Tavistock turned the ball over more effectively, and despite competing strongly to the end Bideford were unable to prevent two more tries from Charlie. This was another great performance by the whole Tavistock team.

Tavistock U13s 57
Stonehouse Sharks U13s 12
TAVISTOCK continued their winning streak by running in nine tries against a committed Stonehouse side. Strong rucking by Tavistock's Cameron, Harry, Ben L , Laurence and Will G deep in Sharks territory led to the ball being recycled through the hands of Ethan and Ben M to Will P on the left wing who then weaved back across field to score in the right hand corner. Shortly thereafter James took the ball from a quick penalty and broke through several tackles to go over for Tavistock's second.
Stonehouse spent a long time entrenched in the Tavistock half and were unlucky not to come away with greater reward. Tries were scored by both sides before Tavistock produced the move of the match. Seamless passing between backs and forwards allowed Alex to pop up a great ball to Ben G who drove forward and offloaded to Callum who delivered the final pass to Will P who went over in the corner.
Playing downhill in the second half Tavistock got off to a flyer with James catching the ball from the kick off and surging up the right wing to score. Stonehouse were unlucky to drop the ball twice whilst attacking deep in the Tavistock half and the home side swooped on both these errors and ran in two similar tries from 70 yards somewhat against the run of play at the time. While the Sharks responded with another try replacement Tavistock forwards Greg, Chris, Rory and Treeve provided further impetus to the set piece and open play. The ball was quickly passed through the hands of the backs to Bernie on the wing who made good ground before delivering an exquisite inside pass to Ben G coming in from full back on a diagonal run who scored under the posts.
In the closing minutes a great rolling maul led by Theo and Callum made 30 yards before George smuggled the ball from his forwards and shot up the blind side to score.
Crediton U12 19
Okehampton U12s 7
OKEHAMPTON travelled to Crediton after an enforced break and looked rusty throughout.
Despite taking the lead through an interception try through arch poacher Leon Horne, who also converted, they failed to push on and came off second best up front.
Crediton latched onto the Oke errors to cross for two tries to leave the score at 12-7 at the break.
They soon extended their lead as an Oke kick ahead was followed up with weak tackling which allowed the home full back an easy run in.
Apart from player of the match Greg Daniel, Okes pack were failing to secure clean ruck ball, and the backs had to live off scraps of possession.
Okehampton will need to raise their game next week with a tough trip to local rivals Launceston.

Okehampton U11s 56
THIS turned out to be one of Okehampton's best performances of the season with all of the team being involved in the play.
As usual Okehampton started slowly and Crediton were the first to score a try and convert. Oke responded soon afterwards with James driving low to level the score. Then a quick ball from the scrum found Tom S in space and his pace took him across the line for the visitors' second. The visitors began to dominate in all areas with the front row controlling the game across the pitch and Nathan was able to use his strength to push over for a third. George played his first game at full back and performed well with a magnificent take from the restart and a run nearly the whole length of the pitch. A well timed pass to scrum half Kai resulted in another try for Oke. It was 7-35 at half time.
Oke again had most of the possession in this second half and two charge downs by Kai stopped Crediton from scoring early on. Nathan went over the line again for Oke. Crediton did not give up though and came back with two quick tries in succession. Oke replied swiftly scoring twice more before the final whistle.
Oke tries: James (2), Tom S, Kai, Nathan (4); conversions James (5 and, Nathan (3).
Plymstock Albion U10s 40
Tavistock U10s 10
TAVISTOCK started well against an in form Plymstock Albion Oaks side with both battling for the upper hand.
Good defensive discipline kept Plymstock at bay in the early stages, but their commitment of numbers at breakdowns wore Tavistock down and created two chances out wide in the first half which put Plymstock ahead.
Tavistock rallied with close support work from the forwards Harry Richardson, Dylan Owen and Cameron Georgel at the breakdown. Dylan picking up a ball from the back of a quick ruck, fed James Kenyon to sidestep and score. Scrum half Harry Edwards worked hard behind the pack to feed quick ball to Tavistock backs Noah Berridge, James Kenyon, Tom Gardener and Ollie Sampson who combined well only to be thwarted by a solid wall of defence. Both Jack Bellamy and Dan Pett on the wings made several runs, again getting close but no score.
The second half started with Plymstock again scoring form strong running with support out wide, but Noah Berridge swerved through to pull one back for the visitors. Two quick tries from Plymstock seemed to drop Tavistock heads and the flood gates opened. A tiring Tavy side rallied bravely, but were simply not strong enough for the mighty Plymstock machine.

Okehampton showed resolve in defence keeping the Crediton score to nil with some excellent tackling by forwards and backs alike, notably from Daniel Wonnacott who put in a great tackling performance.
Okehampton will need to step up their game for the remaining fixtures if they are to build towards this seasons festival.
