Okehampton U16s 15

Barnstaple U16s 28

OKEHAMPTON lost a thoroughly entertaining encounter where two late tries gave the visitors a flattering look to the scoreline. Barum took the lead in the third minute and were never to relinquish it. Several phases of play sucked in the home defence and the left winger scored in the corner, which was superly converted.

Lewis Taylor reduced the arrears with a penalty but Barnstaple increased their lead through an unconverted try and a penalty from midfield for offside. Okehampton side are made of stern stuff and got themselves back in the game following a quick tap penalty, the ball being fed to Conor Stevens who crawled over. George Courtier potting the extras. With the last kick of the half Barum added another penalty to leave the score at 10-18 at the break.

Okehampton started the second half brightly and enjoyed a great deal of possession and territory and it was Conor who again crossed the whiteline following a series of penalties. Following one of these, Oke chose to scrum and Stevens cut a good line to cross for his second. The conversion struck an upright but at 15-18 the Okes were back in it. Barum had the last word with two late tries to give a final score of 15-28.

Tavistock U15s 22

Topsham U15s 12

TOPSHAM were welcomed to high moorland winds whipping across the pitch but they started brightly with two early tries using skillful handling down the back line. Tavistock could have crumbled but stayed resolute and although they  did not score in the first half they did finish the half strongly  due to some great tackling from Morgan.

The second half saw TavIstock up against some clever kicking from the visitors , but this gave the home side a bit of posession, and this combined with a never say die attitude brought three good tries.

Superb rucking from Callen, Brad, captain Jo, Alec, Matt and Angus, who was again a handful in the loose, meant Tavistock started to turn the tide. Bert started to get runners hitting the gain line including Ollie Jay and Jo S but the last word must go to Tom for a match winning performance. Topsham never gave up to their credit.

Barnstaple U15s 27

Okehampton U15s 0

ON a horrid wet and blustery day in North Devon, Okehampton U15s always knew that they would be in for a tough test.

For the first 20 odd minutes both teams matched each other in effort and commitment.  Eventually something had to give and Barnsataple's forwards broke through scoring through Hallum Chapman who had moved across to them from Oke in the off season. Another score by them just before half time saw the visitors trailing 10-0 at the break.

The second half saw a string of injuries to Oke players as the lads put themselves in the firing line but struggled to keep up with the match pace. Barnstaple capitalised run in three unanswered tries in the half.

North Okes U14s 19

Plymstock Albion Oaks 12

IN wet and windy conditions it was the North Okes who started the

stronger side, the forwards taking control and competing well at both

breakdowns and the set pieces. Good tackling from Plymstock kept Oke at bay for so long before Johnny King was the first to go over after a big pick and drive. Daniel Thorne scored the next with a great run and chip inside.

Plymstock pulled one score back with a good run from their big centre. Not long after Harry Elliot nullified the away teams score with a strong run not far from the half way line.

The beginning of the second half began with the North Okes forwards in control but unable to cross the line due to the spirited defense by Plymstock.

With ten minutes to go Plymstock crossed the line.

The North Okes forwards after working so hard began to tire, Plymstock began to capitalize on this and started turning over ball and dominating the opposition.
