Sidmouth and Ottery fourths 5
Okehampton ladies seconds 4
OKEHAMPTON started brightly and scored early on when Lottie Rademaker found herself in space and calmly struck the ball past the goalkeeper.
Columbines played the better hockey throughout the match but were unable to snuff out the dangerous counter attack from the opposition playmakers in the centre of the pitch. It led to the Sidmouth and Ottery equalised against the run of play before going on to take the lead.
Okehampton continued to press forward with an excellent passing game developing between the forwards, Lottie, her sister, Annabel, and Rachel Adams, who consistently caused problems for the home defence. Okehampton scored again when Holly Davison, who battled well at left half, picked up the ball and fed it down the line to Annabel whose cross into the circle was well met by Molly Petherbridge.
Captain Ailsa Gibb did well to thwart the efforts of the opposition's main goal scorer. Despite the valiant efforts of the back four owever, Okehampton were too open through the middle and although goalkeeper, Alice Wiseman, made some good saves, Sidmouth and Ottery took their few chances with well-struck goals and pulled a goal back whenever Okehampton scored.
The visitor's third came when Anna Speak pushed up from the back and after some good interplay down the right, the ball fell to Rachel, Oke's player of the match, who slammed the ball into the corner of the goal.
Molly scored the fourth to equalise but, in the dying minutes, Sidmouth and Ottery secured the winner.
Although they were unlucky to lose Oke seconds are improving match on match.
